Medicine — Pediatric, Behavior Psychology

Work directly with Dr. Patel and her assistants. You will be trained on how to work with children with feeding problems using behavioral techniques, collect feeding behavior data, see patients alongside the team, and assist with publication preparation by reading research and collecting data.

Medicine, Wellness

Exposure to medical aesthetics, focusing on clinical and business aspects. Observe Dr. Kong during consultations and treatments to develop a basic understanding of facial anatomy. Learn HIPAA regulations and patient consent protocols, and understand the role of branding, advertising, social media, and customer service in the medical aesthetic industry.

Physical Therapy / Sports Medicine

Observe and shadow the physical therapist during patient care, interact with staff and patients, and help with light cleaning and organizational duties. During down time the intern can choose one topic of interest (physical dysfunction, injury, or surgery) and write a short research paper to discuss after the internship begins.

Medicine, Pediatrics

Tailored to the intern's interests. Take vital signs, do vision and hearing screenings, run point-of-care testing (urinalysis, glucometer, Abbott ID Now for strep/influenza/RSV) while interacting with babies and children. Learn about disease processes, preventive medicine, antibiotic stewardship, and child development. Time with the clinic manager and billing specialist to learn the business of running a medical clinic.

Public Health / Medicine

Interns will learn about Maternal Child Health by shadowing professionals, helping with patient/family education materials (e.g., safe sleep, breastfeeding), assisting with administrative tasks like charting notes, learning basic clinical protocols, and observing family support sessions.

Medicine — Cardiology

Tailored to student interests, the internship includes researching and presenting on Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), assisting patients with clinical research questionnaires, and shadowing research coordinators. Motivated students available for 4 weeks may participate in lab histology or image analysis.

Medicine — Gastroenterology

Interns assist with planning and executing the simulation-based bootcamp. Tasks include organizing equipment, setting up training spaces, tracking feedback, and maintaining resource files. Students gain exposure to medical education logistics and curriculum development.
