Architecture

This internship will include job shadowing during which the student gets paired with a rotation of architect(s) and/or graduate architect(s) throughout the week, introducing them to a variety of project types and tasks that would be encountered in the profession.

Architecture

Join our small architecture studio as a high school intern. You'll attend team meetings, possibly help create content for social media, conduct product and material research, and assist with organizing material samples. The internship is mostly remote with in-person meetings at the start and end of the week.

Landscape Architecture

Candidate will shadow the owner to experience an overall perspective on landscape architecture: site visits, new lead/sales meetings, writing proposals, office organization, project management, and social media assistance. CAD work and a deliverable can be incorporated if the candidate is able.

Interior Design

A project could look like putting together an interior design proposal and concept for a room within a broader client project. Interns will visit the SF Design Center to source materials and create a final presentation with elevations, a furnishings spreadsheet, and photo/sample boards — a real project they can add to their creative portfolios.

Graphic Design

Research, sketches, job shadowing, light administrative tasks, and design work. Please plan to bring and work on your own laptop.

Visual Art

Research, sketches, preparing panels, organizing studio, job shadowing, and light administrative tasks. Please plan to bring and work on your own laptop.

Venture Capital

The intern will work on a research project using public and paid sources to research a new area of investment (e.g., companies and ideas addressing the security challenges presented by rapid adoption of LLMs and AI coding models).

Business / Finance

A 4-week, part-time summer internship for students interested in finance, business, and investing. Interns gain hands-on experience through job shadowing, market research, and exposure to investment strategies, while observing professionals in action.

Venture Capital

Join the partners as they listen to pitches from founders hoping to receive investments. Learn how they're solving problems and creating brands, and see how investment decisions are made. You'll also test products and work with other interns on pitching a company you may want to launch.

Real Estate

Field operations: helping prep homes, tidying up before showings, and setting up for open houses; administrative support (mailings, organization, gift wrapping). Client experience: attending walkthroughs, showings, observing client management. Team strategy: sitting in on team meetings and learning back-end processes.

Real Estate

The intern will work closely with the Founder/CEO and her assistant on day-to-day tasks: office administration, social media creation, assisting agents with open houses and tours, supporting marketing efforts, and attending sales meetings.

Investment Management / Real Estate

The intern will shadow the management team across rotations in acquisitions, operations, capital improvements, and asset management. They will visit portfolio properties and complete a rent analysis of one property and its competitive set, coming away with a basic understanding of value-add investing.

Real Estate Investment

Focused on exposing students to the basics of real estate valuation. Includes a collaborative valuation project where students do market research and learn how to price a small retail property in the Union Square district of San Francisco.

Real Estate Investments

Role #1 — Marketing and Leasing internship: supporting a key residential property leasing executive in renting out apartments in San Francisco. Role #2 — Real Estate Finance internship: supporting a key finance executive in Finance, Planning and Analysis for real estate operations.

Civic Engagement / Public Policy

This internship centers on the creation of a Voter Guide for College Students & First-Time Voters (18+) in San Francisco — a real civic product that will be published and serve as a professional work sample. Weeks 1–2 include strategy meetings, city government meetings, and ballot research. Week 3 is an independent capstone producing the published voter guide.

Nonprofit / Climate

Shadow community organizers to learn the day-to-day of managing a campaign and organizing grassroots volunteers. Projects could include organizing volunteer events, outreach, developing a social media strategy for students, and connecting with other school communities.

Consulting — Science, Sustainability, Clean Energy

Interns conduct research to support client programs, attend client meetings and take notes, and support business development by building compelling slide decks using research conducted from the intern and from the business owner(s).

Education: K–12 Curriculum

First, spend time understanding career options in the education field — teaching, sales, marketing, events planning, project management, or product development. Next, help with competitive analysis and project management to support the company's upcoming national sales meeting.

Apparel

Projects may include product sampling, fit notes, photo prep; website updates, product listings, basic image edits; social media content, email copy, campaign ideas; light research on trends and competitors; organizing inventory; supporting small events and pop-ups.

Retail / Ecommerce

Detail-oriented, data-driven role supporting the Senior Director of Planning. The Ecom/Planning Intern will prepare and distribute key reports and data analysis recaps while working with cross-functional teams. We'll cover retail math and inventory planning concepts and learn how to extract actionable insights from data.

Fashion / Styling / Brand Strategy / Consulting

Interns for Social Media Management, Merchandising, and Content Creation/Photography. Gain hands-on experience in fashion styling, brand strategy, and content creation — assisting with client styling sessions, event coordination, market research, social media planning, product curation, and visual/written content for our blog Sartorial Diary.

CONSUMER PRODUCTS / BEAUTY

Marketing-focused internship: understanding the discovery and buying journey of parents, creating an influencer marketing plan, generating social media ideas for launching a tween product line, and creating content for social media.

CONSUMER PRODUCTS / BEAUTY

Likely projects: competitor market research; liaison with contract labs, packaging vendors, and brand stakeholders for formula and packaging submissions; creative briefs for in-studio photoshoots; social media community management; influencer management; copywriting for packaging and website; education content creation for social media.

Food & Beverage + CPG

Mentorship-based program where students are paired with Peet's employees who guide them through the learning process and provide insights into the coffee and business world. Emphasis on professional development through shadowing, workshops, and training sessions.

Hospitality / Wellness

Support daily operations of the herbal bar and contribute to local community building. Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and herbal beverages; assist with events at the sanctuary; provide front desk assistance; distribute promotional materials; build relationships within the local business community.

Media & Entertainment / Consumer Tech — Legal

Work directly with Mani Aliabadi, Legal Director of YouTube Product Partnerships, Advertising and Rights Management. Best suited for students interested in law and the intersection of media, entertainment, and technology. Interns will learn about intellectual property, entertainment, and commercial law, shadow Mr Aliabadi, review contracts, and complete a short project. Includes a visit to YouTube campus.

Communications / Public Relations

Support Activa PR's client accounts with hands-on PR experience: using PR databases to research reporters and outlets, building targeted media lists, assisting with pitch development, supporting press release distribution, tracking media coverage, and supporting account management. Connect with team members across media relations, PR strategy, content, and social media.

Communications / Public Relations

Draft press materials, build media databases, review deliverables, draft social media copy (primarily LinkedIn), and potentially capture content. Hands-on with lots of on-the-job instruction. May attend virtual client meetings and learn to structure meeting notes capturing action items and next steps.

Work closely with Hatch team members on a wide range of client projects — from monitoring the news cycle to creating social content to coordinating events. Strength in writing and research, ability to juggle priorities, and a team-player attitude are key qualities.

Broadcast Media / Journalism

Guided tour of the station focused on the newsroom — how editorial decisions are made, stories developed, and newscasts produced. Week one: how a newscast is assembled, stories selected, and fundamentals of producing a broadcast story (interviewing, video, writing for TV). Week two: create an original 90-second broadcast-style story.

Medicine — Pediatric, Behavior Psychology

Work directly with Dr. Patel and her assistants. You will be trained on how to work with children with feeding problems using behavioral techniques, collect feeding behavior data, see patients alongside the team, and assist with publication preparation by reading research and collecting data.

Medicine, Wellness

Exposure to medical aesthetics, focusing on clinical and business aspects. Observe Dr. Kong during consultations and treatments to develop a basic understanding of facial anatomy. Learn HIPAA regulations and patient consent protocols, and understand the role of branding, advertising, social media, and customer service in the medical aesthetic industry.

Physical Therapy / Sports Medicine

Observe and shadow the physical therapist during patient care, interact with staff and patients, and help with light cleaning and organizational duties. During down time the intern can choose one topic of interest (physical dysfunction, injury, or surgery) and write a short research paper to discuss after the internship begins.

Medicine, Pediatrics

Tailored to the intern's interests. Take vital signs, do vision and hearing screenings, run point-of-care testing (urinalysis, glucometer, Abbott ID Now for strep/influenza/RSV) while interacting with babies and children. Learn about disease processes, preventive medicine, antibiotic stewardship, and child development. Time with the clinic manager and billing specialist to learn the business of running a medical clinic.

Public Health / Medicine

Interns will learn about Maternal Child Health by shadowing professionals, helping with patient/family education materials (e.g., safe sleep, breastfeeding), assisting with administrative tasks like charting notes, learning basic clinical protocols, and observing family support sessions.

Medicine — Cardiology

Tailored to student interests, the internship includes researching and presenting on Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), assisting patients with clinical research questionnaires, and shadowing research coordinators. Motivated students available for 4 weeks may participate in lab histology or image analysis.

Medicine — Gastroenterology

Interns assist with planning and executing the simulation-based bootcamp. Tasks include organizing equipment, setting up training spaces, tracking feedback, and maintaining resource files. Students gain exposure to medical education logistics and curriculum development.

Technology

Designed for students curious about tech careers, interns will observe team meetings, explore software design with AI, assist with documentation/research, and complete small, structured projects. No prior technical experience required.

Technology

This job-shadowing experience follows the 'Atlassian for Startups' team. Interns learn how the program is marketed to founders and investors, review program applications, and see how customers are activated via cross-functional workflows.

Structural Engineering

Tailored to the applicant's skills. Interns may assist with tracking Embodied Carbon, implementing concrete technology databases in Excel/PowerBI, or using Revit for drafting. Includes site visits to active construction projects.

Health Technology

Hands-on exposure to AI in healthcare. Interns will participate in data analysis or workflow mapping, observe clinician support tools, and collaborate on building a simple AI 'agent' or prototype to support a healthcare task.

Gaming / Technology

Interns help identify social media trends for Clash Royale and Clash of Clans. You'll learn about marketing to Gen Z and Gen A, metrics that matter for mobile games, and how to maintain brand voice while capturing attention on TikTok and YouTube.

Advertising Technology

Interns join the People Operations team to support HR compliance, enhance the company intranet, and execute employee experience activities. Ideal for detail-oriented students interested in how a high-growth tech company runs.
