About the organization

Jill Lewis Architecture is a boutique studio specializing in bespoke luxury residences that inspire clients to live their best lives. Guided by the principles of organic architecture, we create designs that are deeply connected to their surroundings. We believe that every exceptional project begins with a thorough understanding of the site—its climate, natural light, local materials, and architectural history. This thoughtful analysis forms the foundation for our work, allowing us to craft poetic, inspired solutions that not only respond to the context but also honor the unique needs and aspirations of each client. Through a collaborative process, we create highly personal pieces of architecture, each perfectly tailored to our clients and their families. Our designs strike a balance between function, beauty, and an authentic connection to place. Our comprehensive services guide clients through every step of the design process, from site analysis and programming to concept development, working drawings, and the selection of finishes, materials, colors, hardware, plumbing, appliances, and lighting fixtures. We provide ongoing construction observation, ensuring that each project is seamlessly realized from start to finish alongside our clients.

Internship description

Join our small architecture studio as a high school intern! This hands-on opportunity involves working 4-6 hours per day, where you’ll gain valuable experience in the architecture field. Your tasks will include attending team meetings, perhaps helping create content for our social media channels, conducting product and material research, and assisting with organizing material samples. You’ll have the chance to learn about the design process, explore innovative materials, and understand the myriad components to running a small design firm. While the internship will be mostly remote, we will meet in person at the beginning and end of the week to discuss the intern’s interest and tailor the opportunity as much as possible, and respond to the ever-changing demands of a boutique architecture firm.

Additional details

Interns will work remotely, but can be available to meet with the architect during the week. The intern can attend all meetings during the internship (that are generally via zoom) and job shadow with an exposure to client relations, contractor and consultant meetings. There will possibly be at least one opportunity to visit a local construction project during the week with the architect for hands-on construction observation - depending on the timing of the internship.
